Back in December, we sat in the cold at the table, blueprints spread out, coffee steaming, and a vision taking shape. What started as feeding and sustaining our family, we wanted to grow into a profitable business with a clear plan and a set timeline. That’s when we began mapping out the DaleWood Farms you see today—every pasture, every pen, every project.
Fast forward through the first frost of January, the rains of spring, and now into the heat of August, and we’re still here, boots on the ground, making it happen. We’ve been working on our first camper and glamper, opening the door to a whole new way for people to experience the farm. My uncle has been out planting trees and shrubs around the pond, adding beauty and life that will serve both the land and the wildlife for years to come.
Buddies have stopped by with hammers, nails, saws, and willing hands—proof that community is more than just a word around here. And we’re not just talking about a local community. Friends have traveled in from other states to lend a hand, showing that what we’re building here connects with people no matter where they’re from.
Along the way, we’ve made new friends in the Amish community, picked up tips and tricks, and gotten help on projects that would’ve taken twice as long without them. We’ve learned lessons worth passing down and gained skills that will be part of this farm’s DNA from here on out.
The vision hasn’t changed. We raise healthy animals with purpose. We steward the land like it’s borrowed from the next generation. We give our family and community food they can trust—food with a story and a standard behind it.
DaleWood Farms isn’t just about what we grow, it’s about what we build—relationships, skills, and a legacy worth leaving.
